Gauge:
16 sts and 28 rows = 4 inches / 10 cm in pattern stitch, knit in the round on larger needles (washed and air-dried)
18 sts and 28 rows = 4 inches / 10 cm in pattern stitch, knit flat on larger needles (washed and air-dried)
Needles:
size 7US (4.5 mm) circular needles for body (or size to obtain correct gauge)
size 5US (3.75 mm) circular needles for ribbed cuffs, hem, and neck finish (or .75 mm smaller than gauge needle)
Note: A variety of needle lengths will be required. Sleeves may be knit on two circulars, DPNs, or using magic loop method as desired.
