Sakura Fubuki is a blizzard of cherry blossoms, a springtime phenomenon that occurs at the end of cherry blossom season, when brisk winds send the loose petals whirling. This pretty shawl in three sizes (petite/medium/tall) features a blossom motif that gradually loosens into a lacy swirl as it descends to the hem. While visually complex, the stitchwork is actually very simple, with most WS rows completely in purl. This project is a pleasant reminder that spring is on its way and would make the prettiest of wedding shawls

Suggested Yarns: 
Bare Naked Wools Special Edition Fingering, Modern Deco Lace, Cashmere + Silk Lace, The G.O.A.T. Lace, Kent Lace, Cormo Lace, Fresh Lace, Jacob Fingering, Shetlandia Fingering, Gotland Lace or any lace yarn that knits to correct gauge.

Substituting yarn and/or needles may result in an overall variation in size, drape, and yardage requirement.

Finished Size: 
58(72, 84) inches across top edge and 22(28, 34) inches long at center back (stretched and blocked) 

Yarn Requirements: 
475(825, 1200) yards  

Gauge:
26 sts and 40 rows = 4 inches / 10 cm in stockinette stitch on larger needle (knit flat, washed, and air-dried without stretching)
Note: shawl may be knit in a variety of gauges, needle sizes, and yarn weights but the yardage requirement will vary

Needles:
size 3US (3.25 mm) circular needle or size to obtain correct gauge
size 2US (2.75 mm) circular needle for hem (or .5 mm smaller than gauge needle)
size 2US (2.75 mm) DPNs for hem and finishing (optional)
