Haplander Kit
yarn & knitting pattern kit

This kit features a sport weight haplander shawl pattern in a triangle or square shape to knit with five natural yarns. This new design is broken down into parts.

Yarn kits include pattern and yarn. 

***Each kit contains (choose from 2 kit sizes, using the pulldown menu):

Haplander Triangle kit: (5) 2-oz skeins plus triangle pattern download
Haplander Square kit: (5) 4-oz skeins plus square pattern downloa

Approximate finished sizes:
Triangle: approximately 75 inches across the top edge and 28 inches along the center back (stretched and blocked)
Square: approximately 50 inches square (stretched and blocked)

Yarn Requirement: 
Triangle: 180 yards of sport weight yarn in each of five shades (approximately 900 yards total)
Square: 360 yards of sport weight in each of five shades (approximately 1800 yards total)

Gauge: 24 sts and 33 rows = 4 inches / 10 cm in stockinette stitch on smaller needles (knit flat, washed, and air-dried)

Needles:
size 6US (4.0 mm) or size to obtain correct gauge; DPNS in same size for starting Square or finishing Triangle 
size 7US (4.5 mm) or .5 mm larger than gauge needle
Note: a variety of needle lengths will be required to accommodate the growing shawl size

The Haplander Triangle features 2oz skeins of Shetlandia Sport  in the following shades:

• Color A: Moorit/Emsket Marls
• Color B: Moorit
• Color C: Emsket
• Color D: Emsket/White Marls
• Color E:  White

The haplander Square features 4oz skeins of Shetlandia Sport  in the following shades:

• Color A: Moorit/Emsket Marls
• Color B: Moorit
• Color C: Moorit/White Marls
• Color D: Emsket/White Marls
• Color E: White

Note: The pattern is knit in the following order: Color A, B, D, E, C.
