  • These cozy mittens in two sizes (S/M and M/L) feature a panel motif drawn straight from the kale patch. This stranded colorwork project takes advantage of a deep, nearly solid foreground color to create distinct shapes with highlights in brighter tones. A tweed yarn for the background shade imparts a woodcut effect to the whole composition. Use soft, lofty yarns that will bloom easily for a final result with a consistent surface.
Substituting yarn and/or needles may result in an overall variation in size and elasticity.

Suggested Yarns: Bare Naked Wools Stone Soup DK, Kent DK, or Better Breakfast DK, Spirit Trail Zalti, Birte, or Brigantia, Mountain Meadow Wool Jackson, Briar Rose Fibers Fourth of July, or Joyful

Finished Size: approximately 7(8) inches in circumference (washed and blocked) to fit hands measuring up to 6.5(7.5) inches around palm
Note: size may be further refined by using needles one size larger or smaller
    Yarn requirements:
    Color A: 100(125) yards
    Color B: 100(125) yards

21 sts and 32 rows = 4 inches in stockinette on middle needles in Stone Soup DK (unblocked)
