5 DESIGNS TO KNIT THIS SPRING SEASON

5 DESIGNS TO KNIT THIS SPRING SEASON

It's time to freshen up your wardrobe with some brand new knits. As winter leaves us and spring greets us, you might be ready to cast on and get started on some spring projects. Our wide range of, shawls, socks and light weight sweaters that would be perfect for the upcoming season.

1. Aspergillum

A dramatically textured, lightweight tunic or cropped pullover in five sizes  featuring a bold cable and lace motif with deep, embossed ribbing to finish the hem, sleeve cuffs, and wide neck. Worked in two simple rectangles with a bit of neck shaping, this drop-shoulder design has an easy, slouchy fit that goes from seaside fun to poolside cocktails without a hitch—a great weekender piece.

SUGGESTED YARN: MODERN DECO LACE

2. Banjo

A fine gauge triangle shawl in two sizes (petite/tall), inspired by the motifs seen on printed bandanas. In fact, the smaller size may be put to use taming hair while boating, bike riding, or cruising with the top down. This easy-to-knit piece is comprised of simple eyelet motifs with wrong side rows entirely worked in purl—worked from neck to hem, it makes excellent knitting for spectator sports, the beach, or a first-time lace shawl project.

SUGGESTED YARN: KENT LACE

3. Hellebores Lace Beret and Wristlet Set

This petite lace beret in three sizes with matching ruffled wristlets, adds a light layer of warmth or keeps hair in place during the blustery days of fall and spring. The pretty, biased openwork motif has lace knitting on every round, but its complexity is alleviated by the circular construction of the pieces, where the right side of the work is visible throughout.

SUGGESTED YARN: SHETLANDIA FINGERING

4. Firefly

This light top in 12 sizes has sizzling lace details and appealing options to customize a piece that will cross over several seasons of the year. The body falls from the underarm in a forgiving A-line shape with lace insets, with slim (but stretchy) lace sleeves in two lengths—or go sleeveless. Worked in one piece from hem to underarm, then divided for tailored armhole and shoulder shaping, with sleeves knit flat.

SUGGESTED YARN: FRESH LACE

5. Sangria Skirt

The drawstring waist allows you to adjust the skirt to suit your shape, and the slightly flared design ensures that it will hug you in the right places and skim over the rest. Sangria looks especially good over a pair of biker shorts or leggings — making this chic piece so functional that you can wear it on a hot date at a winery or even ice skating with friends during the cooler months. This flirty lace skirt comes in six sizes with drawstring waist. Choose the size that matches the hip measurement; skirt will stretch to hug body.

SUGGESTED YARN: TARGHEE TANGO SPORT
