Ostrich Plumes Stole or Scarf

A cuddly wrap or scarf with columns of flying geese and cattail motifs, to keep even the coldest north wind away from neck and shoulders. Knit from hem to center back in two halves and grafted, the wrap is patterned for two lengths and the scarf for one. 

Suggested Yarns:

Fresh Lace, Kent Lace, Modern Deco Lace, Better Breakfast Fingering, Stone Soup Fingering, Shetlandia Fingering, Jacob Fingering, or any light DK or sport-weight yarn. Substituting yarn and/or needles may result in an overall variation in size, drape, and yardage requirement.

Finished Size:

Stole: approx 19" X 72", blocked (or desired length)

Scarf: approx 11" X 56", blocked (or desired length) 

Yarn Requirements:

Stole: Approx 700 yards 

Scarf: Approx 350 yards 

Gauge: 

6 sts per inch unblocked; 5 sts per inch after blocking. Length is approx 45(60)" before blocking

Note: Gauge and lengths will vary with different yarn, needles, and blocking

Needles:

size 7 US (4.5mm) or size to obtain correct gauge
