Montadale is a medium-wool breed that produces a dense, strong, and springy fleece with subtle luster. Blended with Romney, which has a longer, silkier hand, you get a yarn that’s both squishy and resilient. The Montadale offers lots of loft, elasticity, and excellent stitch definition, while the Romney adds color and depth to highlight stitch patterns nicely. The resulting fabric feels plush but wears like iron, making it ideal for everyday sweaters, socks, or fingerless mitts.
