Leucania

Description

Named after the Obscure Wainscot Moth (Leucania obsoleta), this triangular shawl is worked top-down from a garter stitch tab cast-on. Light and delicate to the hand as it is, the solid fabric adds a surprising layer of warmth and a festive glow to holiday outfits. A textured stitchwork border is just ornate enough to add that eye-catching bit of twinkle.

The Leucania pattern is part of the design collection for our 11th annual Red Scarf scholarship fundraiser! All proceeds from the sale of this pattern through December 31, 2021 are applied directly to our scholarship fund, administered by Foster Care to Success.

This Red Scarf scholarship pattern sample is knit in Bare Naked Wools Festivus 6.0 Fingering (Merino/Cashmere/Silk) in the limited-edition, custom colorway Rudolph. A portion of Festivus yarn sales go directly to the scholarship fund.

Please note this pattern has mostly charted instructions. Any pattern support is supplied by the contributing designer. Substituting yarn and/or needles may result in an overall variation in size, drape, or yardage requirement.
