A cushy cabled scarf to knit in worsted weight wool that will be much appreciated on those coldest of days. Simple cable crosses combine to form an intricate swirl of texture that keeps the knitter engaged for the long run.

Suggested Yarns:
Stone Soup Worsted, Kent Worsted, Confection Worsted, Better Breakfast Worsted, Targhee Tango Worsted, or any worsted/aran weight yarn that knits to pattern gauge.
Substituting yarn and/or needles may result in an overall variation in size and density.
Finished Size:
9.5 inches in width and 70 inches in length (blocked)
Yarn Requirements:
520 yards
Gauge:
24 sts and 26 rows = 4 inches in cable pattern on larger needles (washed and air-dried)
17 sts and 26 rows = 4 inches in stockinette on larger needles (washed and air-dried)
Needles:
size 8US (5.0 mm) or size to obtain correct gauge
size 5US (3.75 mm) for hem ribbing (or 1.25 mm smaller than gauge needle)
