This breezy large scarf or stole in two sizes (scarf/stole) has a gorgeous allover motif that reminds us of delicate, early spring blooms. The effect is extended here with an added edging along the sides. The heavily textured pattern makes the most of light yarns that lack body; it will add depth to mohair, cashmere, linen, and silk blends. Worked in a heavier yarn on larger needles, the effect is unabashedly lush and sexy, especially if the fiber has a bit of shine. The piece is written to be worked in two sections and grafted at center back; while somewhat challenging, with a few rows that include “wrong side” lace stitches, the effort is worth the stunning result in the especially pretty, deeply scalloped hems.

Sample shown is the scarf size, knit in Better Breakfast Fingering, color Daybreak
